Monday Made It - Birthday Style

Okay, so this week's Monday Made It is going to be a little different than what I usually do.

Today is my boyfriend's 26th birthday. Having the day off and wanting to do something a little different, I decided to go to pinterest. Surely there might be a great idea there right? So I searched "boyfriend birthday" I kid you not. And I found THIS PIN.

Now of course waiting until THE DAY OF his birthday I couldn't attach photos to the end of the balloons. Well I could, but this girlfriend had a photo for each year of her boyfriend's birthday tied to the end of the balloon, and I definitely didn't have a picture of my boyfriend from birth to 26 soooo... in all my brainstorming, I came up with attaching reasons why I am glad he was born today to each balloon. Here is what my house looks like this very minute:

Not sure if you can see it but on the front door there is a small dark rectangle which is a card. Inside is a happy birthday message and his directions on what to do when he gets inside. I've told him that upon entering he will be going towards the stairs. He will find his birthday surprise that I have entitled "26 reasons why I'm glad you were born today."

As he walks up the stairs I've made little hearts that each have one reason why I'm happy he was born.

There are 26 of these all attached to a balloon.

Now it just so happens that one of my balloons OF COURSE popped, so instead of going to the store... AGAIN, I decided to stick #26 on an envelope. Inside I put little coupons that he can redeem with me, like breakfast in bed, watch sports all day long, and a couple.. of.. well.. couple oriented ones too!

He gets home in half an hour.... can't wait to see his reaction!

Oh, and I have this bad boy in the oven: apple pie, his favorite! I wish I could attach the smell of it....

Huge thunderstorm coming our way tonight.. thunder and lightning galore! Not sure how this is going to affect the birthday festivities tonight.. but I love thunderstorms. Especially because my two 80+ pound dogs are scared and snuggling with me! Wow...and my first un-school related post! :)

My boyfriend's 26th birthday is on Saturday!!! I did a "reasons I love you" gift for Valentine's Day so his birthday gift will be something different. :)

I can't believe the original person had a picture of her boyfriend every year of his life. What is he supposed to do with those afterwards? At least your boyfriend can keep your little notes to cheer him up or make him feel happy later!!
